Live Round Found in Cabin of United Airlines Flight
A live round was found in the cabin of United Airlines flight UA1302, which was scheduled to operate from Denver International Airport to San Diego in the United States. The round was discovered during routine pre-departure checks aboard the Boeing 737-900, prompting the incident to be treated as a security breach.
Following the discovery, all 178 passengers and six crew members were evacuated from the aircraft. Passengers were instructed to leave the plane with their carry-on luggage, while security teams conducted a comprehensive search of the empty aircraft. It was not immediately determined how or by whom the round had been brought onboard.
United Airlines said the aircraft underwent additional security checks after the round was found. The flight was cleared to continue to San Diego after security teams determined that the aircraft was safe. No injuries were reported, although the incident caused the flight to depart approximately two hours later than scheduled.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart Denver at around 1:25 p.m. Following the completion of the security procedures, the aircraft took off at approximately 3:41 p.m. No official statement has yet been made regarding who the round belonged to or how it entered the aircraft.
